School Board Meeting
November 8, 2000

 

 

The Stanley County School District, #57-1, Board of Education met in special session November 8, 2000, 5:30 P.M., in the study hall of the high school building with Charlene Foster, Gary Johnson, Mary Beth Fravel, Steve Brown and John Bucholz present. Also in attendance was Business Manager Kevin Merscheim.  Visitors included Henry Kosters, Jerry Ehlers, Tony Mangan and Sara Hagen.

 

President Charlene Foster called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M.

 

President Charlene Foster led the pledge of allegiance.

 

Brown moved, seconded by Bucholz, to adopt the agenda.  All voted aye.

 

Henry Kosters from Associated School Boards of South Dakota discussed with Board members the results of the meetings with students, staff, administrators and the community for the qualities and skills desired for a new Superintendent.  A list of proposed questions patterned after the suggestions from all groups was discussed.  Seventeen questions were selected, which will be used during the interview process by the Board.  The schedule of events during the day for each interviewing candidate was briefly discussed.  The final list of questions, salary and the schedule for the interviews will be discussed further at the special board meeting on December 27, 2000.

 

Johnson moved, seconded by Bucholz, to adjourn at 7:11 P.M.  All voted aye.
