The Stanley County School District, #57-1, Board of Education met in Special session February 13, 2013 at 5:30 P.M., in High School Principal’s Conference Room with Sarah Carter, Gary Johnson, Nicole Prince, Tina Titze, and Rick Cronin present. Others in attendance were : Lance Witte 5:34 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., Grant Vander Vost 6:36 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Dan Martin 7:37 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. John Pederson and Tom Oster from 8:45 P.M. to 9:33 P.M., and Jessi Fromm arrived at 10:05 P.M. President Carter called the meeting to order at 5:05 P.M. President Carter led the Pledge of Allegiance. Cronin moved, seconded by Johnson, to adopt the agenda. All voted aye. Titze moved, second by Prince, that Tieszen Law Office, Prof. LLC, of Pierre, South Dakota, is authorized to settle T.O.’s claim against the District made on September 2, 2010. This board approval is contingent upon signatures of all parties and Order of the Court approving the same. All voted aye. Titze moved, seconded by Cronin to go to Executive Session according to SDCL 1-25-2 for personnel reasons at 5:07 P.M. All voted aye. Carter declared the Board out of Executive Session at 10:14 P.M. Johnson moved, seconded by Prince, to offer a contract to Dan Martin for the Superintendent position for a 3 year term. All voted aye.
