Special School Board Meeting

The Stanley County School District, #57-1, Board of Education met in special session May 18, 2011, 5:30 P.M., in the Superintendent’s Office with Sonny Harrowa, Nicole Prince, John Duffy, Darby Nutter present. Tina Titze was present by speaker phone from 5:45 p.m. to 6:05 p.m.  Others in attendance were Superintendent Don Hotalling, Business Manager Jessi Fromm, and Principals Timothy Hollar, and Brian Hartwig. Visitors were Shirley Swanson. 

 

President Sonny Harrowa called the meeting to order at 5:41 p.m.

 

President Sonny Harrowa led the pledge of allegiance.

 

Duffy moved, seconded by Prince to adopt the agenda .  All voted aye.

 

Mr. Nutter discussed the elevation levels at the new parking lot on the south side of Parkview that is being built in conjunction with City of Fort Pierre, Stanley County, and the Stanley County School District.

 

Mr. Nutter advised the Fort Pierre Recreation Association will pay $30,000 for the top coat of asphalt for the new parking lot which will also be used for a play ground area. The City estimates the cost of the top coat of asphalt to be $60,000.00. The City requested the Stanley County School District to contribute $30,000.00 to the cost.

 

Nutter moved, seconded by Duffy to spend $30,000.00 to match the Fort Pierre Recreation Association for the top coat of asphalt contingent on having the work done according to regulations. Prince, Nutter and Duffy vote aye, Harrowa voted nay, Titze was absent.

 

Duffy moved, seconded by Nutter to adjourn at 6:54 p.m. All voted aye.
