Special School Board Meeting
January 18, 2008

The Stanley County School District, #57-1, Board of Education met in special session January 18, 2008, 5:30 P.M. in the Superintendent’s office of the Elementary Building with Sonny Harrowa, Darby Nutter, Bridget Miller and Mork Norman present. John Duffy was absent. Others in attendance were Business Manager Kevin Merscheim.

President Sonny Harrowa called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M.

President Sonny Harrowa led the pledge of allegiance.

President Sonny Harrowa reported the State of South Dakota Department of Transportation has requested a Right of Way agreement for school property with safety measures for students and school buildings when completing the Highway 83 project. The two options were to approve the agreement as proposed or defer action.

Norman moved, seconded by Nutter, to approve the Right of Way agreement as proposed and to authorize the Board President to sign the agreement as approved. All voted aye.

The Board commended President Sonny Harrowa and Board member John Duffy for negotiating with the Department of Transportation. The Board wished to thank the Stanley County Commission and the Fort Pierre City Council for their support during these negotiations.

Nutter moved, seconded by Miller, to declare the February board meeting to be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 5:30 P.M. in the middle school learning center. All voted aye.

Nutter moved, seconded by Miller, to adjourn at 5:56 P.M. All voted aye.
