The Stanley County
School District, #57-1, Board of Education met in special
session December 4, 2006, 7 P.M. in the middle school learning
center with Sonny Harrowa, Darby Nutter, Bridget Miller and John
Duffy present. Mork Norman was absent. Others in attendance were
Business Manager Kevin Merscheim. Visitors included Harrold
Superintendent Ward Thelen and interested school staff, parents
and residents of both the Stanley County and Harrold School
Districts.
President Sonny Harrowa called the meeting to order at 7 P.M.
President Sonny Harrowa led the pledge of allegiance.
Miller moved, seconded by Nutter, to adopt the agenda. All voted
aye.
President Sonny Harrowa declared the Board in recess at 7:05
P.M. for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the
proposed consolidation of the Stanley County School District and
the Harrold School District effective July 1, 2007.
Business Manager Kevin Merscheim reported the financial status
of the Stanley County School District and the financial
advantages of the consolidation with the Harrold School
District. Questions were primarily financial in nature. Jerry
Kleinsasser disputed the financial information presented and
suggested changes to the information.
President Sonny Harrowa declared the Board back in session at
8:40 P.M.
Miller moved, seconded by Duffy, to adjourn at 8:41 P.M. All
voted aye.
