The Stanley County School District, #57-1, Board of Education 
                met in special session February 4, 2004, 6 P.M., in the Learning 
                Center of the Middle/High School building with Gary Johnson, 
                John Bucholz, Mitch Norman and John Moisan present.  Mary Beth 
                Fravel was absent.  Also in attendance was Business Manager 
                Kevin Merscheim. Visitors included Randolph Seiler, Jeff 
                Kisecker, Casey Cowan, Cindy Koupal and Bridget Miller.
                
                
                 
                
                
                President Gary Johnson called the meeting to order at 6 P.M.
                
                
                 
                
                
                President Gary Johnson led the pledge of allegiance.
                
                
                 
                
                
                Moisan moved, seconded by Bucholz, to adopt the agenda.  All 
                voted aye.
                
                
                 
                
                
                President Gary Johnson explained the ground rules for candidates 
                interviewing for the vacant position of school board member Mary 
                Beth Fravel.
                
                
                 
                
                
                Moisan moved, seconded by Bucholz, to go into Executive Session 
                according to SDCL 1-25-2 for personnel reasons at 6:05 P.M.  All 
                voted aye.
                
                
                 
                
                
                President Gary Johnson declared the Board out of Executive 
                Session at 8:56 P.M.
                
                
                 
                
                
                Norman moved, seconded by Bucholz, to appoint Bridget Miller to 
                fill the vacant school board position of Mary Beth Fravel until 
                July 12, 2004. Bucholz, Johnson and Norman voted aye.  Moisan 
                voted no.
                
                
                 
                
                
                Norman moved, seconded by Moisan, to adjourn at 8:59 P.M.  All 
                voted aye.
